SG Hari Raya

About SG Hari Raya

A simple, reliable place to check when Hari Raya falls in Singapore — both Aidilfitri and Aidiladha — and to understand the Ramadan month that leads up to it.

Where the dates come from

The Hari Raya dates on this site are the gazetted public-holiday dates published on the government open-data portal, data.gov.sg, so they match the official Singapore public holidays exactly. Nothing here is guessed.

Why Islamic dates are confirmed by moon-sighting

The Islamic calendar is lunar, and in Singapore the start of each month — and so the exact date of Hari Raya — is confirmed by moon-sighting (rukyah) through the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). That is why a date shown in a calendar app a year or two ahead is an estimate until it is officially gazetted, and can shift by a day. Where we show Ramadan's start, we label it as approximate for this reason.

What this site is not

This is a dates-and-guides reference, not a religious authority. For daily prayer, sahur and iftar times, and for rulings, refer to MUIS and your local mosque. SG Hari Raya is an independent publisher and is not affiliated with MUIS or the Government of Singapore.
